cbd and cbg oil

Are CBG and CBD oil the same?

The question may arise whether CBD and CBG oil are the same, as they are similar in many ways and many people use them synonymously. Health-conscious people are paying more and more attention to both CBD and CBG oil. It is definitely worth getting to know both natural, plant-based preparations. We will tell you up front that the two are not at all the same.

Let’s be clear! What is CBG oil?

CBG oil is one of several cannabinoids found in hemp. CBG is also found in CBD oil itself. It is often referred to as the mother or father of other cannabinoids, as it plays a major role as a precursor in the production of other cannabinoids such as CBD oil. Hemp contains far less CBG than CBD oil. It is mainly young cannabis plants that contain higher amounts of CBG and are therefore the main source of CBG. The problem with the mature plants is that the high CBD and THC concentrations mean that the amount of CBG is very low. This also means that a very large number of plants are needed to extract sufficient amounts of CBG, so preparations containing CBG are available at a very high price!

What do I need to know about CBD oil?

CBD is also found in the hemp plant, but in much larger quantities than CBG, making up around 40% of the hemp plant. The popularity of CBD lies mainly in its effectiveness in alleviating a wide range of ailments. CBD oil is particularly helpful in stressful situations, panic disorders and anxiety. If you don’t want to take tranquilizers but are looking for something effective and natural, CBD is the ideal solution! CBD oil also has analgesic properties and is beneficial for the nervous system, heart and metabolism.

Attention! Clinical studies on the above effects are not yet available, so they are primarily based on user experience. Why is CBG oil more expensive than CBD?

This question has been answered to some extent above. CBD is present in much higher concentrations in cannabis plants than CBG. CBD is reported to be present in 40% of the plant strains, while CBG is present in only 1%.

In addition, the higher amount of CBG means that the plant has to be harvested early, making CBG-containing products much more expensive than, for example, CBD oil or other CBD-containing products.
